TSS Presents Friday Freestyle Report #05 'Freestyles and Rap Battles'

I'm not interested in his studio recordings but I gave his freestyle a shot and found that it wasn't that bad. I definitely was not impressed but I was surprised that he was as competent as he was. Meek Mill had some light bars going on there. He came off like he was a little gassed off his own name but overall he did deliver a lot of hype and more than a little bit of substance. A lot happens in this freestyle before the beat begins as Meek Mill discusses his corny ass reconciliation with Drake which leads Flex down a road of apologies too.

'Bars On I-95' last hit us with a freestyle from Ms. Hustle two weeks ago. Since then it has been really quiet on the online freestyle front. If you're not familiar 'Bars On I-95' is a Connecticut based freestyle platform for elite level emcees. They have featured a consistent roster of Connecticut based emcee talent as well as a few big name heavyweight bar talkers from the culture. During the two weeks since my last post these are some of the 'Bars On I-95' freestyles that I have been listening to.

This joint featuring K Price is certainly one of the stand out moments of 2018 for 'Bars On I-95'.  And although Meek Mill has the biggest name among the artist mentioned in this post he does not have the best freestyle. It's about your pen game not your name. Like Meek Mill, K Price is also from Philly but he delivers  his bars with more precision and passion than Meek.  My money is on K Price out of the two. Shout out to 'Bars On I-95' for this performance.

'Bars On I-95' features a lot of top tier talent on their platform. I know at the least they have that rest of that Fred The Godson session in the can just waiting on release.  While we wait for that to drop this session with Krayze White will give you something to fuck with until then. Krayze White is representing out of Bridgeport, Connecticut as 'Bars On I-95' continues to show love to Connecticut's local emcee talent. When you listen to 'Bars On I-95' you hear what Connecticut sounds like.

Niko Brim brings a lot of bars to the table during this session of 'Bars On I-95'.  You may find yourself rewinding the performance to catch everything he said.

This right here is the kind of action the online freestyle game needs more of.  This blog is about bars and once again 'Bars On I-95' delivers.

Outside of the Funk Flex freestyles 'Bars On I-95' is the best thing going if you're online and looking for freestyles.  It's quality production coupled with elite level emceeing often from artist you have not heard of yet.

I watched the Arsonal vs Nu Jerzey Twork battle from SM8 a couple days ago and loved every bit of Arsonal's performance but really felt Twork was not prepared for his opponent at all. Every round from Arsonal was simply levels above anything Twork could put together and coupled with Twork's mumble mouth delivery he just sounded like trash. The only person Arsonal was competing against in this event was himself. He had a pretty nice line about Rob England (Freddy Kruger) that goes right over the heads of the crowd.

Now that these SM8 battle are starting to get posted online hopefully we'll get a good version of the Tay Roc vs Pat Stay battle. This right here is a cell phone recording of the pay per view battle that the viewer paid for. You can see her toes from time to time as she watches this in bed..... The feedback I was hearing about this battle wasn't good for Tay Roc. From what I have seen from him in the first round this is the first time I have actually seen him spit some light bars.  At the time of writing this I haven't heard Pat Stay spit yet but I'm getting the feeling Tay Roc may have not taken Pat Stay seriously enough during his preparation for this battle. I've never seen Tay Roc spit such non lethal bars before.........Pat Stay went hard in his first round easily outclassing Tay Roc. He had more of that energy that Tay Roc didn't. Pat Stay didn't have the wordplay that you typically get with a more aggressive Tay Roc but the energy he approached his bars with was the same.  Pat Stay was definitely the hungrier man with somehting to prove in this battle and Tay Roc was more 'just having fun'........At points this battle gets frustrating because honestly you have to blame Tay Roc for letting this happen. Pat Stay should not have had that much momentum. On the lighter side of  things you can see the toes of the lady who paid for this event.......

Friday Freestyle Report 02 'Bars and Battles'

This one is an action packed Friday Freestyle Report as we pull up on session two. Which you will have noticed kicked off with light bars from DNA doing the '5 Fingers of Death' followed by an older performance with Kay Slay.                      DNA spits first at the top of the first round and I'm wondering how the fuck is Tay Roc going to follow that shit up? And at that point Tay Roc starts fucking him up for three rounds straight. This one is a fun one to watch. Tay Roc goes up against a goliath like DNA and makes him look helpless. Also worth mentioning is the obvious effort put into the overall production at the time of its filming. I'd like to see that exact same visual format come back around.       Tay Roc in action packed top tier exhibition on Funk Flex during Freestyle #26 .        This next battle between Danja Zone and R Str...

Friday Freestyle Report 04 Bars and Blunts

The cats over at 'Bars On I-95' have come through two weeks in a row with exceptional female talent. Ms. Hustle runs with the baton Lady Luck passed off last week as A.B. and Cease continue curating what will one day be a legendary list of freestyle performances. Ms.Hustle is hard and brings to the table an aggressiveness that is not present in a lot of male emcees. Ms Hustle is right at home on the home of the heavy spitters. I would have liked to hear a little bit more from her.   'Bars On I-95'...Thank you for this one. This one impressed with instant classic status. Other female emcees would be wise to take a lot of notes here. Any emcee in general could learn something here. Now I'm wondering if the rest of that Fred The Godson will be better than this. I don't think it will be. This is Lady London spitting all bars and no bullshit on 'Bars On I-95' home of the heavy talkers and she fit right in. I didn't know Lady London would be t...
